![]() ![]() Open your avatar’s inventory, by using the Suitcase icon on the screen bottom, go into the Object or Clothing areas and select several different items. Sometimes with outfits acquired from vendors when you cross different island borders, there may become a “permissions” issue that is resolved by your appearing as a red cloud. I t is suggested that you type in the chat area, asking others to turn of their mikes. If others in the environment, however, have are not using a headset and have left their mike’s open, you will hear background sounds from the computer. The communications work best if you are using a headset with a mike close to your mouth the feedback loops are generally avoided. I get an echoing sound through my speaker – or, I hear background noisesĮchoing come when you or other avatars in the VR space at the same time, have your microphones on simultaneously and you get feedback from other avatars. You can always use text chat, if you can’t get your avatar to speak. If you have “speech enabled” (the ability to talk) you should see a white dot over the head of the avatar. When your avatar is actively speaking, and being heard, you should see green waves come out of its head. To check the Firestorm viewer, click the small-box in the top right of the microphone icon on the bottom of the screen (a check mark is added) and then you click on and off the larger microphone icon itself to speak (you click this icon off when you do not want to speak to prevent audio feedback within the virtual space) to use text, type in the text-entry, chat space on the bottom left > press Enter – 1 min video In Firestorm go to the References (Ctrl+P), open the Sound and Media on the left, moved to middle voice tab, check to ensure that voice is enabled then be sure you have the mike directed to the right equipment on your machine. Check these points: your headset (that can be turned on and off) the location of your headset relative to your computer the settings on your computer’s system areas (do you have multiple microphones and speakers and maybe Firestorm is not using the right one) the settings within the Firestorm, or other, viewer itself. ![]() This is because the sound can depend on variables beyond the program itself. Sound and microphones can be one of the most challenging aspects of any distance communication. I can’t hear other avatars when I am on the island and/or I can’t speak – chatting In many of the "academic" meetings, you won't be moving to far, so just staying seated will eliminate avatar movement issues too. Use the World Map icon to move to locations. If your avatar is still slow, then primarily stay in limited locations with your avatar. If you are seeing avatar performance challenges, use an ethernet cable (the best option, if possible) or move to a good wifi spot, to ensure good internet / bandwidth speed. In VR settings, you are using graphics that require a good amount of computer and internet “juice.” You can NOT come in successfully through a netbook-like computer. How can I download the viewer onto my computer?Īs passed along by our Mac whizzes, you may need to go to the Security/Privacy area, click General > click Lock-icon > enter password > click Apps store and identified developers. Revisit the basic instructions and/or watch this 2 minute video. If you don't see Kitely, you need to return and download the other viewer. There are two versions of the Firestorm viewer - you need to have the versions that include OpenSim (not just Second Life). ![]() You can find my xml below.When I open Firestorm, I don't see Kitely as an option The foto I am using is also showing in android studio but not on my phone. Strange thing is I am using the same picture in an other part of my app and there everithing is working fine. I want to show a picture but the picture is not showing. ![]()
